Lost Art Gallery and Sea Spirits Gallery & Gifts are nestled side by side on St. George Street just south of the plaza. Both are uniquely different yet come from the same values and broad interests of the owner Victoria Golden. Victoria has been a fine art appraiser for over 25 years. Her first gallery was opened in Gainesville about twenty years ago out of her clients’ needs to find new homes for their treasures. Victoria has appraised collections for individuals and many museums including The Lightner Museum. In fact, it was a large donation project for Flagler College that kept her involved with St. Augustine’s community. She always loved it here, so eight years ago she decided to move her gallery to this lovely location.

Lost Art Gallery is a special place that features Antiquities to Contemporary Art. There is literary every style of art, and something for everyone. Works of art start from $25. to museum quality. The gallery is constantly acquiring new paintings from its featured artists and appraisal work so there is always something wonderful coming in each week!

In 2012, Victoria had the honor of being one of 12 initiated Internationally into the prestigious Explorers Club. She was nominated for her contributions in cultural anthropology, archeology, and ocean and marine mammal conservation. Her love of the sea spawned her next venture, opening Sea Spirits Gallery & Gifts which features special and unique nautical and sea themed artisan art and objects. Upon entering the gallery, one senses the magic of the sea with blown glass jellyfish chandeliers, and hand hammered copper marlins swimming through the breeze. One of Victoria’s favorite collection is the 2,000-year-old ancient roman glass jewelry, especially since she doesn’t have to return to the dig sites to find it!

Victoria loves finding special pieces for the community as well as having her son Alexander and her daughter Jennifer involved in the galleries. Both grew up, immersed in art, and archeology and are advanced divers and world travelers. Alex’s, love of history and the arts makes him a natural both in researching and in sharing the stories of each amazing art piece along with the other knowledgeable fine arts consultants. Jennifer’s experience in Interior Decorating has helped their customers turn average homes into stunning showcases!

All of Victoria’s hard work was recognized when she was selected by the editor of Southern Living Magazine featuring her, and her galleries; Lost Art Gallery and Sea Spirits Gallery & Gifts as wonderful treasures of St. Augustine!
