Beckham is interested in rendering representational scenes while preserving their energy and tone. She is a very intuitive and inventive painter. Curious about her painterly style? Instead of painting with brushes, Beckham uses a palette knife painting technique to apply paint to her painting surface. If the panel is large enough, she will even use credit cards for those bigger strokes. The interaction between her uderpainting and the color mixes applied makes her painting process visible in the finished product.

Beckham earned her Bachelors of Arts and Bachelors of Sciences at Old Dominion University. She has had multiple personal shows and has been exhibited with Oil Painters of America, Salon International, the Florida Museum of Natural History, and the National Watercolor Society. She is also a member of Oil Painters of America.
